Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Tugce: “I am a mixed media artist living and working in London, United Kingdom, who specialises in exploring drawing, painting and photography. More recently, I have been using ink pens to produce line drawings focusing on documenting trails of London.”

When did you start creating art?
Tugce: ” I started to draw and paint at a very young age. I started to explore both processes more so in 2006, and have continued since.”

What kind of art do you make?
Tugce: ” I have been producing line drawings more recently which focus on exploring ink based pens on cartridge paper. My chosen subject matter varies between landscapes and portraiture. I create digital versions of my outcomes through Photoshop, prior to painting. This provides me with the opportunity to alter and view the composition digitally, prior to painting on canvas.”

Did you study art?
Tugce: ” I studied a BA Hons degree in Fine Art and Photography at University.”

Is art a career or a hobby?
Tugce: “I have been actively producing Art for over 16 years. Throughout this time I have experimented with a range of materials and processes, which has enabled my artistic practice to flourish further. Alongside my artistic practice, I teach Art and Photography in a sixth form school setting.”

Which artists inspire you?
Tugce: ” I am inspired by a versatile range of artists who explore alternative mediums and processes. A few of which include: Olafur Eliasson, Anthony McCall, Christian Boltanski, Yayoi Kusama, Dora Maar and  Lee Friedlander.”
