Can you tell us about yourself?
My name is Sujit Sudhi, I am an artist from India. I started to paint as a way to kill time and eventually it became a full time affair. Right now, I work two jobs and one of them is that of a full time artist.”

When did start painting?
Sujit: “As a kid I was drawn towards drawing cartoons and found a lot of joy in drawing funny pictures. But it was not until about 15 years ago that I actually started to paint.”

What medium do you prefer to use?
Sujit: “I primarily paint in watercolours. I use all sorts of commercially available paper and Daniel Smith watercolour paints.  I sometimes paint in acrylics and oils using commercially available  artists grade supplies.”

What subjects do you paint?
Sujit: ” My favourite subjects are landscapes.  I believe that it’s a challenge for an artist to create the illusion of depth and distance on a 2D surface and I like to push my limits to achieve the same.”

Did you go to art college?
Sujit: “No, I did not go to an art college. I had the good fortune of painting under the tutelage of one of India’s foremost watercolour artist, the late Ambadas Mahurkar.”

Fun Fact
Sujit: “When my daughter was asked to describe her Dad in a sentence at school she wrote ‘My Dad is a funny fellow.’
