Painting Landscapes of Colorado and the West
After completing my Bachelor of Arts degree, I taught junior high and senior high art for nine years. Later, after further study, I earned a Masters Degree in Art and Education and taught painting and drawing on the college level for seven years. I also owned a studio and an art supply store for twenty-seven years in which I taught many different painting media to adults. Now I have a home studio and still teach a couple of painting classes while I continue to paint almost every day. I seem to be locked into my teaching profession as I have never considered giving it up! Teaching painting is so inspiring to me when I see my students achieve success in their personal work. In 1972, I married Dale Edwards and we have two children, Liesl, married to Todd Hargrave, and Brion, married to Mihoko. We have four grandchildren, Faith, Colin, Lillian, and Eleanor. My husband, his family, and mine (four sisters and step mother, Monica) have always been very supportive of my art which helps my creativity and has enabled my further study of painting. I constantly read and study, take workshops, and try to improve my work. Having a family who recognizes that this is the work of my life, is very important and life-affirming to me. Diane lives and works in Colorado.
