Can you tell us about yourself?
Marney-Rose: “I am an Impressionism artist born in New-Zealand, living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada now.
I paint with both oils and watercolour equally. I love to teach watercolour and inspire people to paint in watercolour.”

When did you start painting?
Marney-Rose: “I started painting in 2003.”

What kinds of materials do you use to create your artwork?
Marney-Rose: ” I paint in different mediums of watercolour, oils, acrylics and charcoal, building layers with glazes.
The mediums are not mixed together.”

What subjects do you paint?
Marney-Rose: ” Florals, especially roses  and bird nests primarily.  For the complexity and fragility that tugs at my heart bringing them to life.”

Is art a hobby or career?
Marney-Rose: “I am a self tought artist and my art is my career.”

Fun Fact?
Marney-Rose: “I started snowboarding at 38, not for very long though.”

Have you exhibited your artwork?
Marney-Rose: ” Yes, I have had a number of solo and group exhibitions locally and internationally. I showed with the Societe Francaise Aquarelle and the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour in 2018. My most recent solo exhibition was April 2022 at the Plaskett Gallery in New Westminster where I live.

Which artists do you admire?
Marney-Rose: “I admire a lot of artists however the one that inspires me is Lucy Hunter.”
