Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
Louise: “Whilst I was born and raised in Durham, substantially more than 21 years ago, I now live and work in Edinburgh where I balance art with working as a supply primary school teacher. There are so many art skills I am eager to learn and whilst I know that I am still so far off how I want to paint, I’m now thoroughly enjoying what I am doing to get there.
What do you like to paint?
Louise: “Painting and drawing from life or a still life is a delight and if I can’t do that then I use my own reference photos and studies. My fish series “Heart of Darkness’ are painted in oils and are one of my core subjects to work on. I adore portraying the way the fish come out of the depths, using contorted edges where reality and darkness collide.
Over the last few years I have been fortunate to sell regularly both in Edinburgh and increasingly worldwide. I am so looking forward to seeing what the next few years in art bring.
