This is a colour chart made up of 5 different templates. By filling in the five different templates you will create a multiple reference chart for any type of paint. You can keep and use these when you need to mix a certain colour for in a painting.
By completing these charts you will experience for yourself what the effects can be and how you can manipulate colours. Valuable knowledge for any artist.

In this tutorial we demonstrate how you can paint and alter six basic colours. Download the [template] and print it on thick paper that you can paint on. Make sure you complete this colour chart before you continue with part 2.

List of materials and colours
You will need
- An acrylic palette or oil palette
- Water (if you paint with acrylic paint)
- Palette knife (for mixing if you are using oil paint)
- Paint brush
- Tissue paper
- Scrap paper
- Printed templates on thick paper

Warm primary colours
– Cadmium Yellow
– Cadmium Red
– Ultramarine Blue
Cool primary colours
– Lemon Yellow
– Alizarin Crimson
– Cerulean Blue
– Black (Mars or Ivory)
– White (Titanium)
Tips
– Don’t paint up to adjacent boxes as the colours may blead together and run.
– If you are using acrylic paint, don’t use to much water in your mixture.
– Make sure your brushes are free from any water after rinsing.
– Always make sure that your water is clean.
– Have plenty of tissue and scrap paper to hand.
– Make sure to clean your brushes very well when you are finished.
