The Derwent Art Prize

The Derwent Art Prize is a global art competition and exhibition. Open to artist from around the world, the Prize rewards excellence by showcasing the very best 2D and 3D artworks. Artists are requested to fill in the completed online entry form. A total amount of up to 6 recent works can be submitted. A non refundable fee of 15 pounds for the first work and 5 pounds for each additional work will be charged. Artists of under 25 years of age will pay only 5 pounds per work.


Pencil or coloured pencil as well as water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal.

The first prize of 4000 pounds plus a year’s supply of Derwent products

Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours

The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour is one of the longest standing  art prizes and is over 200 years old. The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours seeks the best in contemporary watercolour and water media painting. Contestants have to be 18 years old or older.



Water soluble mediums such as watercolour, acrylic, ink or guoache. Water soluble oil paint is not accepted.
All paintings must be painted on paper or paper based support.

The Leathersellers Prize is 1000 pounds for artists aged between  18 and 30 years of age

Animayo  International poster Competition 2022

Artists around the world are invited to submit their artwork to the annual Animayo Festival Poster Contest. The winning poster will be used to promote Animayo 2022. This contest is free of charge and there are no entry fees. Anyone above the age of sixteen can enter. All works must be unpublished.



Any technique or medium can be used.

Prisma Art Prize

Prisma Art Prize is an art contest that promotes emerging painters and visual artists. As our name and logo suggests, we want to be a prism that refracts all the possible outcomes of the painting process. What we want is to answer a fundamental question in the current artistic context: what does painting mean today? At the base of our project, there is the constant and inclusive research and enhancement of artists from different cultural and educational backgrounds. Prisma Art Prize is open to everyone, regardless of age, nationality, or gender.

Each of the four seasonal Call for Artists gives the chance to win the first prize in cash worth € 500, interviews from partner magazines, and other prizes offered by sponsors ArtRights, Viviva Colors, Artuu and Biafarin. Every year there is the opportunity to be selected for the group exhibition in Rome and to be published in the catalog.
All the works selected for each Call will remain on display in our online gallery (website and social profiles), a space that we take care of for the participants and the public of art lovers.

Royal Scottish Academy

RSA now in it’s 196th year, this Edinburgh exhibition has evolved over the years, showcasing Scottish art alongside invited international artists. UK and International artists are able to drop off chosen work in Edinburgh. All works must be for sale and a 40% commission will be charged if a painting is sold. There is a maximum of works per person that can be submitted. An enrolment fee of 20 pounds per work and 10 pounds for students will be charged.


All mediums are accepted.

The deadline is 6th February 2022

International Portrait Competition

You are invited to enter the 24th Annual International Portrait Competition, showcasing the finest in portraiture and figurative art today. The International Portrait Competition is open to all artists, members and non-members. A variety of mediums is welcomed and encouraged. The top twenty finalists are required to exhibit their selected original artwork and be present at the prestigious The Art of the Portrait conference in Atlanta, GA, April 21-24, 2022 for final judging and awards.


No photography, electronic, computer generated art, art done in a class, workshop or under supervision is eligible. All other media is accepted and encouraged, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional.

9th of Februari 2022

All finalists will be eligible for over $115,000 in cash and prizes. The William F. Draper Grand Prize includes a feature article in International Artist Magazine and a $25,000 cash prize. Finalists also receive recognition in The Art of the Portrait journal and on the Portrait Society’s website. Finalists receive complementary tuition to The Art of the Portrait conference as well as other cash and prizes.

Florence, sometimes called the “museum of no roof ”, is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. “The International Art & Design Competition” takes place in this marvelous environment. The aim of the competition is to contribute to the revitalization and internationalization of the entire Italian Art, Design and Crafts industries, by discovering new artists, fostering their talents, and in the meantime promoting the study abroad in Italy. The theme of this art competiton is ‘Earth’.

BBA Artist Prize 2022

Taking part in this art competition is a great opportunity to exhibit in the fantastic city of Berlin during one of the biggest events for contemporary art in Germany. Artists must be 18 years old, or older. There is a maximum of 5 artworks which can be submitted, for an enrolment fee of 29 euros before the 18th January or 39 euros thereafter.

Any medium including sculpture and original prints are accepted.

Jackson’s painting prize 2022

Jackson’s painting prize 2022 is open to artists of all ages. This brilliantly run art competition showcases original, 2-dimensional fine art works in any painting or drawing media. There is an entry fee of 5 pounds for every work. A maximal number of 5 can be submitted.

The overall winner will win 6000 pounds
The emerging artist award will win 1000 pounds
The people’s choice award will win 500 pounds
The amateur artist award is also worth 500 pounds

Join the Annual Red River Watercolour Society National Juried Watermedia exhibition.

All water soluble mediums are accepted. These include transparent or opaque watercolour gouache, casein, egg tempera, water based ink, water soluble graphite, and acrylic paint. All entries must be made on paper or yupo paper and must be framed or matted. Minimum painting size, excluding mat must be 108 square inches.

30th Annual Colored Pencil Society of America

The CPSA International Exhibition is an annual juried gallery exhibition exclusively for works done in 100% coloured pencil. This is held in a different city each year to provide more people the opportunity to enjoy coloured pencil as a fine art medium.
A non-refundable entry fee of $25 and non-members $35 is applicable. This fee covers one or two entries.

8th On paper annual print making award 2022

ON PAPER is a project to promote the art of printmaking and develop connections between printmakers around the world. It is based in Barcelona and run by an art association with Nuria Melero as a main organiser. The shortlisted artists will be exhibited in Tinta Invisible, Barcelona (Spain) in July.  On June 30th the winner will be announced for the award at the opening event in Tinta Invisible as in our social media. The international jury will select 10-15 shortlisted artists.  The artists with most votes will receive the awards.

Artists can submit one piece of work on a paper size of 300mm x 400mm.

Wildlife artist of the year

Wildlife Artist of the Year is open to both professional and amateur artists aged 17 or over, using any technique, medium or style excluding photography and digitally produced artwork. Artists must have reached the age of 17 by the closing date for entries. The Human Impact Category is open to young artists between the ages of 16 and 22. All artworks need to be available for sale and completed by the artists within the last five years, and multiple entries are welcome.


Mediums can include oil, acrylic, watercolour, pencil, mixed media, bronze, plaster, wire, collage, abstract, monochrome and many others – the choice is yours. Unfortunately, photography or digital artworks are not accepted in this competition.

Entries for Wildlife Artist of the Year 2022 close Early April 2022.
Once the judging has taken place, the shortlisted artworks will be displayed online throughout September 2022

The Luxembourg Art Prize

The Luxembourg art prize aims to reveal and promote talented artists who have yet to establish a profile on the contemporary international art scene. There is no age limit on submissions. It is open to amateur and professional artists. All nationalities are eligible. The competition is open to artists from all over the world. Unlike other art awards and shows, the Luxembourg Art Prize is arranged by a top tier private European museum. Your career will take on an international dimension and your artistic output will have a fair shot at rapidly gaining consideration as essential in the international art market. You must register by creating a candidate space on the Luxembourg Art Prize website and complete the entry form on-line.

First place winner of the Luxembourg Art Prize receives 50,000 euros.

Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize

This a  national prize aimed at supporting, encouraging and mentoring emerging women painters culminating in a London exhibition for 22 finalists. This is open to any female artist working in the United Kingdom who is above 18 years of age. There is a 15 pound fee for entering up to two artworks.

The mediums accepted are watercolour, oil, pastel or acrylic. The maximum size should be 60cm wide x 130cm. The maximum sale price should be 850 pounds and there will be a 38% commission.

The Sunny Art Prize is an international art prize hosted by the Sunny Art Centre, London in the United Kingdom. This fine art competition is a global platform offering opportunities to artists worldwide to showcase their artworks internationally. The contest also gives art prize winners the opportunity to take part in a one-month artist residency, the Artist Residency Programme. Anthology Cover Art Award

Established to foster and support both established and emerging visual artists and provide a platform for publication, the competition is open to multiple genres.
Works entered must not have appeared on the cover of another publication and not entered simultaneously in any other contest or competition. Works previously exhibited or published on the artist’s website on the interior pages of a book or magazine are accepted. Entries are invited from artists of all nationalities, living anywhere in the world. There is no limit to entries per person.

Work will be accepted on any theme. It is not a requirement, but is advisable to refer to Anthology magazine or purchase a copy before submitting your work, so that work submitted is aligned with the aesthetic of Anthology.

EuropArtFair 2022 

This edition of the EuropArtFair is unique in its kind: visitors will be shown a cross-section of art by carefully selected contemporary artists from all over Europe and even beyond. More importantly, the meet-and-greet with the artists is part of the deal! The participating artists will be provided with an opportunity to show their work directly to the public.

Participation in the EuropArtFair 2022 is exclusively for professional artists from Europe. To be eligible for participation you must have completed a recognized professional eduction and have been working as an artist for at least three years. Your application will be assessed by the Balloting Committee.
