3-Color Portrait Drawing
This workshop demonstrates the process of drawing a masterpiece portrait using the classical 3-color (“Tricolor”) dry media palette: charcoal, white chalk, and red chalk. We will work with black and white charcoal to create form, and red chalk pastel to add moments of chroma that bring the drawing to life.
This recorded workshop includes 5 recorded lessons – a total of over 9.5 hours of demoing and instruction.
Materials needed: Toned paper, charcoal, white charcoal (or chalk), red chalk pastel, and a kneadable eraser. The workshop includes a detailed supply list with links to preferred materials and brands.
